Using Social Networking to Gain Exposure

Even article marketing exposure can be greatly improved through social networking. The better you become at social networking the more ways it can help you gain exposure for your other Internet marketing efforts.
So, how can you use social networking in an effort to gain exposure?
1) Rub elbows with the big names in the business. Social networking allows you to get to know the big names in Internet marketing and within the niche you are hoping to dominate, whatever that niche may be. You get the opportunity to see what they have to say in their social networking efforts and let them know that you know your stuff too. There is much you can learn from one another and always the potential to make new connections, friends, or lay the groundwork for future joint venture projects. Social networking, like handshake networking in offline businesses, is a way to get your foot in the door with some of the more widely recognized names in your field. Even better, it gives them the opportunity to get to know you.
2) Let everyone in your social network know who you are, what you are working on, and what you can do for them. Remember that the true spirit of social networking is in being social. The more social you are in general the better your efforts to network will be received as something more than an effort to sell your products or get clicks. Letting others know these things broadens your audience and works to target your audience to a large degree.
3) Build links. Most Internet marketers understand the importance of links. Social networking is an excellent way to build links. When you publish an article that promotes your products, let those in your networking circles know. You'll be surprised how many will support you by sharing those links, clicking those links, Stumbling those links, and sometimes, even purchasing the products you have to offer. The links though are golden when it comes to building page rank for your various Internet marketing interests. The higher your page rank, the more exposure you will get through organic search engine searches.
4) Connections through connections. Just as in handshake networking, social networking online allows you to connect to the people through people you've already made connections with. Building a bigger network isn't always the path to building a better network but it certainly doesn't hurt when what you are looking for most is exposure.
Gaining exposure through social networking isn't an easy path by any means but it is a sure path. If you participate in the social networking process with the right mindset you can enjoy amazing results and phenomenal exposure from your hard work. The more exposure your site, blog, lens, hubs, articles, and links get along the way the better the odds of you reaching your goals for success.
